Gross Motor Skills

Gross motor skills are the building blocks for a solid base to other developmental areas. Physical activity encourages the development of coordination and core strength and can also help regulate mood and concentration. Confidence in body movement and coordination promotes enjoyment of sport and physical activities. These skills are also required for classroom learning, for example, children need core strength to sit upright at a desk.
